Mission Statement St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School exists to provide a quality Christian education in a genuine faith community where each child can grow to his/her full God-given potential. We prepare each child for the future by guiding him/her to become an active participant within the Church, local and global communities. Philosophy St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School believes in providing a faith community where education is offered in an atmosphere enriched by Gospel values and beliefs. We believe all students should be provided with opportunities designed to enable them to achieve optimal educational success. We model our commitment TO TEACH AS JESUS DID and deepen the Christian values within our school community. St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School strives to educate the student for life by unifying our efforts with the home, parish and community. History In 1973 Catholic education in the City of Two Rivers was in a year of transition. In preparation for the consolidation of Saint Luke School and St. Mark School, four faculty members spent a semester in one building and them switched to the other. Two Rivers Catholic Central School (TRCCS) was formed in 1974 as a consolidation of the two schools. The Catholic parishes: Holy Redeemer, Sacred Heart, St. Luke and St. Mark provided financial support for this collaborative effort in order to continue the opportunity for Catholic education. Two campuses were developed with the St. Luke building housing grades five through eight and the St. Mark building housing grades one through four. Since the St. Luke building was in the downtown area, this was thought to be the wisest use of resources. The Kindergarten program was established in 1981. The preschool program was added in 1990. In 1997 all students moved into the St. Mark building at 2203 12th Street. As a result of the merger of the four Catholic parishes in Two Rivers into one parish named St. Peter the Fisherman in 2002, TRCCS is now St. Peter the Fisherman School |
